Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
