On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned call records and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered child disappearance cases and is still unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One phone message, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? Then what? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I do not need money, I have a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The panel was told that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who gathered the evidence, informed the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted family friends of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I will continue and I will prove my position."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a association via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' home in the county in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had communicated via communication app to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the months preceding the trip to the village, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court heard message exchanges between the two defendants, in November 2024, considering endeavoring to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their home, the defendant sent a message which stated: "We are positioned outside the McCanns' house with our headlights off resembling investigators. I desired to achieve this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings continues.
