Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slam events during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a medical condition she has been battling over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will include her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together again next season.

Raducanu required blood pressure checks during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

She was also playing far from freely in the deciding set in the match with Zhu due to the lower back problem that has troubled her during parts of the season.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

She mentioned that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
